Email is the easiest way to send your artwork to us. Our main address is info@thesignplace.com. Please include quantities, sizes, and any applicable target dates or other event information. One of our Design Professionals will contact you.  Some carriers limit the size of files. If your files are rejected because they are too large to send, we have a convenient Drop Box site for your convenience. Contact us for instructions on how to use this service.

Artwork Tips

• We do not require bleeds. We will provide them on our end.
• Change all text to graphics or outlines.
• We love artwork to size!
• We love Vector files! (EPS or AI)

If you do not know what a Vector file is, here are some hints about them.

Vector vs. Bitmap

• Vector files are universal and work for all varieties of printed, vinyl film or other types of signage, and in all size configurations. Think of a vector file as a wire frame of the image, with a solid “paint fill” making up the body of the image. As the wire frame is made larger, the fill expands to cover the larger image. The edges stay sharp, and the body stays solid.
• Bitmap files form the images by spacing dots so close together that they look like a solid field. The dots form both the outer edge and the body of the image.  These dots do not increase in density as you make the image larger. The dots get larger, but they also get farther apart. This is called pixilation, which causes the image to look blurry.  The most common reason for this occurrence is attempting to use a file in a large format application such as signage, that was originally created for a small format application, such as letterhead or print advertising.
• Bitmap files work for printed signs only, and must be of sufficient resolution to print without pixilation.  The best way to accomplish this is to make the file as close as possible to actual finished size of the sign, and to use a resolution of 150 – 300 dpi.
• If your artwork is done in bitmap format, and you want a sign type that requires vector format (ex. cut vinyl film, dimensional letters, sand blasted, or engraved), either your graphics people, or ours, will need to modify or recreate your file.
